Training course on CSEB Design, 2nd to 7th February | Very friendly atmosphere and lovely staff, Helpful with questions, concept good teaching materials. Appropriate setting to be so close to the CSEB production. |
Intensive training course on AVD, 16th to 21st February | The course was really interesting and informative. I feel it has given me enough to explore my design and has also made me a lot more curious about experimenting with material and forms. I would have preferred to have a bit more time here and would definitely love to return to the earth institute again and learn more. |

|
Intensive training course on AVD, 6th to 11th January | It was a bit complicated in the beginning but I did understand eventually and it was quite brilliant then. But most of all I loved learning all this from people who know so much about all of this and I liked the Gaudi case study the most with all the discussions and exchanges. |
Training course on CSEB, 10th to 22nd February | This training program has helped me a lot and also taught me more about earth and its various uses. Materially as well as spiritually. Thank you. |
Training course on CSEB Design, 7th to 12th July | Wonderful course learned a lot, looking forward to be back for other courses. Learning to the maximum. |
Intensive training course on AVD, 21st to 26th July | AVD was a very enriching experience. Am taking back a lot of knowledge back with me & hoping I get to use the technology soon. Shall keep you posted. Thank you for the guidance & a big thank you to the every helping staff. |

|
Training course on CSEB Design, 4th to 9th February | The course was excellent way to learn earth construction basics. Though there is further to learn through personal experimentation local climate, soil type of other aspects need to be explained. I am looking forward to come back to the Earth Institute for AVD & CSEB Production courses as well. The institute resource center is very rich and the staff is very helpful. |
Training course on Ferrocement, 3rd to 8th June | The atmosphere is not one of an institute with its necessity for formality and obedience rather, the teachers are very informed, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The materials itself is very versatile and I had immense fun in learning the various forms and shapes that can be derived from ferrocement. Thank you. |
Training course on AVD, 10th to 22nd June | This is a whole new experience for me since this subject is not followed everywhere. I came to know how a natural material i.e. clay can bear that much weight. This place is very peaceful and I enjoyed both learning and as well as leaving social with all people from offered walk of life. |
Training course on CSEB, 16th to 28th September | Auroville is the best place for learning, communication, etc. and the course is fully satisfying with the every need we want. Thank you for introducing such a beautiful place and interesting course to me. |

|
Training course on AVD, 3rd to 15th September | I have seen pictures of various structures earth institute has done. But didn’t know how they were constructed. It was really a good course for me to clear my doubts and see the case studies regarding ways of construction. |
Intensive training course on AVD, 16th to 21st July | The course was nice. Since I am a student, I got a first experience for building structure. I got a lot to learn about AVD structure which I would not have got anywhere else. The people were good. I hope the experience shall mature me as a person. |
Training course on CSEB, 2nd to 14th April | As an architect or even architecture student, I never got the opportunity to work directly with the building materials. This was a great experience. Also, I believe that one student should refer the materials, context and climate of the zone, where he/she is building. Building with CSEB blocks or mud is the best way to respect the vernacular elements of the region, and I strongly highlight this idea my design philosophy. |

Mr. Agam Arunkumar Shah Indian Architect Training course on AVD 16th to 28th June 2008 | Email 21-09-2008 14:43: Dear Satprem, AVD was very good. Frankly speaking I don’t know if I would ever use AVD in future, but the best thing that I learned from you is the way you work – so energetic, passionate, always ready – and that too when you are nearing a half century old. I can’t do that at quarter century. Working with you has been a different learning experience in many different ways – the experience which would definitely be a lifelong motivation for me. I might not remember how to construct an arch or any other things that you taught us in two weeks but will surely remember you and respect for the other things that I have seen and indirectly learnt from you. And I thank you for that. You see AVD became secondary to me... |

I am indebted to him for teaching me what I know about earth architecture in such an efficient and no fuss manner. His hands on approach show his humbleness and friendly nature. InshAllah May God guide him and take him to newer heights of awareness and consciousness in all walks of life. Ashfaq |

Such individuals as you are few. The warmth and efficiency as well as the hospitality shown by all of your staff deserve a special mention too or it would be an injustice not to do so. Ashfaq |

I really enjoyed the course, learning different type of construction technology and at the same time meeting different people from over all different background and different cultures. I would even like to thank you for all the care you took, regarding the detail notes and the information you provided us, the food, all the accessories whenever required, the cleanliness etc. I haven’t seen a teacher who is so much devoted to and true to his work and principles! According to me Auroville earth institute is the best place for the students, where you learn a different form of architecture, and also, at the same time get an opportunity to experience a different form of life. A life full of Knowledge, less of restrictions, more of energy and enthusiasm and an urge to learn more. It’s a nice platform for Indian students to meet the students from different parts of the world, and at the same time for the outsiders, it’s a nice overview into the Indian culture. I had a nice interaction with people from different countries, different professions like architecture students, architects, engineers, and masons, etc. It really helped me broaden my view towards life. It helped me, to make good friends. I really thank you for all that you gave me, and I respect you for all the pains you have taken to build such an institute. I admire you for the amount of skills and knowledge you have. I would like to keep in touch with you. Thanking you. Yours sincerely, Rashmi Desai |
