I'm a student of B.Arch at RVCA. I recently finished my workshop on 'Designing with cseb' (June 2016).

It was such a rich experience. From the kind of surroundings to the people who came there and the very way everything was taught was really good. Honestly everything taught to me about reinforcements made sense to me only after going there. It was slightly intensive, but still a great job done by Satprem sir, Radhika ma'am and Ayappan sir to impart so much knowledge within 6 days.
Really inspiring.

Auroville is doing an excellent job in nature-friendly and cost effective buildings. They are elegant and a feast to the eyes.
I learnt that low cost does not always mean ugly structures. We should have an eye for aesthetics. You are amazingly creative.

I am due to establish a Non Governmental Organization which will among others promote enviromental conservation in Kigoma ergion -Tanzania which is vulnerable to desertification due to deforestation emaneting from lack of electricity in the area. I was part of the CSEB course of Feb 2010. I am not an architect but had some experience in building a farmhouse at my farm at Nasik. The course was amazing and helped change many of my ideas. These guys add cement to soil and produce walls and bricks as strong as the ones considered 'normal' !!!
I am planning to start constructing rammed earth walls for an agri-tourism company in Nasik.

I lived and worked in Auroville between 1969 and 1974. I stayed in Aspiration with the original people who came to help build Auroville. I left there in 1974 to do my nurses training and never went back. My mother Doreen Bell stills lives in Pondicherry at The International Guest House.
